Kitten Heels

Kitten heel is again on the rise! Like any other wardrobes, foot wears and accessories Kitten heels is back (or better yet referred to as “is resurrected from the 50’s and is brought to the modern world). It maybe a step – sister to the ugly heel family but mind you, people will wear it [preferably women], and you will be seeing lots of them this 2011! It’s not ugly anymore but rather “hot”.

Keeping up the Kitten Trend:
While you could whack a kitten heel onto virtually any type of shoe and say it's a la mode, that would be something of a stretch. As a 2010 and 2011 shoe trend the kitten heel is linked quite firmly to the return of the silhouettes of the 50s and 60s: from the full-skirted prom styles to the figure-hugging sheaths, the kitten heel is a natural partner for any Mad Men-esque outfit.
As such:
·         Look to shoes that are dainty, yet sophisticated. That means kitten heels with pointed toesare preferable.
·         Feminine details like bows can add to the effect but keep it relatively simple and don't overdo the girlyness.
·         If you want a pair that will work for both modern and retro-inspired ensembles, go for pairs that are simple and minimalist. Try leather pairs in neutral tones, earthy tones or shades like grey or black.

Clogs are in!

Clogs? What is that? Well the moment one hears it, it entails with it discomfort and awkwardness! Buta whaola, clogs is in this spring of 2011!
Well if you wanna be in disregard discomfort and just be in with the style. As they say fashion knows no comfort, and as TYRA would emphasize, feel the pain and project strong beauty in it! There are lots of clogs to choose to so choose those clogs that would give you less discomfort and more style!

One Piece is in: Jumpsuits and Playsuits it is!

One-piece wardrobes are “in” again! And those are overalls, jumpsuits, playsuits and rompers. Like bell bottoms and flared jeans they are resurrected in the fashion world!

Evening: a new take on relaxed glamour, no-one has nailed this quite like Alber Elbaz for Lanvin. Single-shouldered and sequin covered jumpsuits were a striking alternative to the traditional evening dress.
Tailored: smart and sophisticated, a tailored playsuit can be office-ready as well as dressed up for day or night. Look for crisper fabrics, cuffed shorts, and cinched in waists - a la Karl Lagerfeld.
Loose and flowing: the perfect take for Spring/Summer, this look has a dash of hippy - working best when combined with soft floral prints. Fabrics should be free-flowing, legs wide and long. The likes of Roberto Cavalli and Etro produced the perfect examples.
Sporty: Julien MacDonald, Lacoste and Walter all took sportier options, in line with S/S '10'ssports trend; from hoods and zips to simple cotton jersey fabrics.
Basic: while some designers have gone for prints and intricate detailing, the likes of Stella McCartney and Givenchy presented the ideal basic options. A more versatile wardrobe staple, go for black, white or nude colours and simple straight cuts.

How must you wear them?
-          For a bombshell silhouette look for a pear shaped figure, one must wear a halter styled jumpsuit or playsuit and be sure to belt it firmly.
-          For night time opt for luxurious fabrics like silks; details like sequins or sheer panels; or leather for an edgier look.

Stripes is in! Navy stripes it is!

In 2011, it's the classic navy and white colour palette, worn as dominant stripes.

Note that I didn't say bold stripes, but dominant stripes. While navy and white stripes are a must for the look (though black and white can also work in 2011), the real key to Summer's take on nautical stripes is that they dominate the outfit. While they do so in the below look easily (though the plum Doc Martens still seem somewhat heavy), in other outfits it's about drawing attention to the stripes above all else in the outfit.

Stripes is in! Yes that’s true! But however they are not bold stripes but dominant stripes! The must have stripes are those in navy and white (but black and white is also an option). The real key to this “is that nautical stripes dominate the outfit”

Stripes can work not only with clothes  but also with accessories, like hats, purse and the like (but please don’t wear them at the same time or else you’ll end up like a zebra in the zoo)
A stripe top can also be worn with a bell bottom jeans to project a more authentic sailor look!
